Ours have been made by marble artisans in Jaipur, ceramicists in Italy, metalworkers in Germany - each one the result of a conversation between a designer and a craftsman refined until the object was right. Made for daily use and for ceremony equally, because in Khaleeji culture those two things are rarely far apart.
